<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell using a catalyst layer electrode capable of preventing the inhibition of gas diffusion by produced water and the inhibition of gas diffusion caused by covering of an electrode catalyst by the bleed-out of an acid in the fuel cell using an electrolyte membrane in which acid is held in a basic polymer, and operated at high temperatures without humidifying, and to provide the manufacturing method of the fuel cell. <P>SOLUTION: The electrode for the fuel cell used in the fuel cell capable of generating electric power without humidifying the electrolyte membrane has a catalyst layer comprising a catalyst containing platinum, the basic polymer, and a hydrophobic binder. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
