The cable has a screen (20) surrounding a central core (12) and electrically isolated from the core. The screen is constituted of a tape (32) comprising an insulating substrate and a metallic layer arranged on the substrate. The tape has a longitudinal edge (28) covering another longitudinal edge (30), where the two edges are bonded together by ultrasonic bonding until parts of the metallic layer are in contact with each other. An independent claim is also included for a method of fabricating a cable.
