The roof has a front rigid roof element (2), and rear lateral roof elements (4A, 4B) provided on both sides of a rear rigid central roof element (3). The central element is connected to the front roof element by a connection unit (7) permitting to move and bring the central element opposite to an upper side of the front element when the roof is moved towards a stored position in which the roof is stored at the rear of a vehicle. The connection unit is located near a rear edge of the front element and articulates and moves the central element on the front element.
