The system has four posts (14) placed around a swimming pool. A perimetric beam (16) e.g. laser beam, and a low tangible obstacle (18) e.g. curb, extend between the posts. One of the posts has a push button (30) movable between a stable released position and an unstable pushed in position. The push button prevents triggering of an alarm e.g. siren, as long as the push button is maintained in the unstable position. The alarm is triggered only after the push button reaches the stable position. The push button is situated at a height greater than or equal to 160 cm.
