APPARATUS FOR COOLING DOOR OF KIMCHEE REFRIGERATOR AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE SAME

A cooling apparatus of a kimchi refrigerator having a storage compartment includes a detector for detecting whether a door is opened or not; a timer for performing to count an opening time of a door when it is detected that the door is opened; a heat exchanger installed in the door for cooling down warm air flown into an upper part of the storage compartment to discharge the cooled air into the storage compartment; and a controller for calculating a driving time during which the heat exchanger is driven and providing a cooling control signal to the heart exchanger pursuant to the driving time when it is detected that the door is closed by the detector.
