<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oxygen sensor that strikes a balance between detection responsiveness for an oxygen concentration and durability against exhaust condensate in an oxygen concentration detecting part. <P>SOLUTION: The oxygen sensor includes an oxygen ion conductive solid electrolyte layer, the oxygen concentration detecting part including a pair of electrodes with the solid electrolyte layer therebetween, a protector for covering the oxygen concentration detecting part and formed with a flow-through hole through which a measured gas flows into the inside, and a protection layer provided on a surface of the oxygen concentration detecting part.
