GAS TURBINE ENGINE ASSEMBLY AND SPLINE SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of assembling a gas turbine engine.

SOLUTION: This method comprises the step of preparing a core gas turbine engine having a drive shaft partially defined by a frame and rotatable around the axis. A low-pressure turbine is joined to the core turbine engine. A double reversal fan assembly is joined to the low-pressure turbine. The double reversal fan assembly includes a first fan assembly and a second fan assembly. A gear box 100 is firmly joined to the frame so that the gear box can be circumferentially disposed around the drive shaft. The first fan assembly is rotatably joined to the input part 104 of the gear box so that the first fan assembly can be rotated in a first direction. A second fan assembly is rotatably joined to the output part 106 of the gear box so that the second fan assembly can be rotated in a second direction reverse to the first direction.
