PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sample holder capable of substantially improving its tilt around the axis perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of a holder body. SOLUTION: This sample holder has the holder body, a sample fixing table to hold a sample, and an axially tilting mechanism rotatable around the axis perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the holder body. The axially tilting mechanism is a mechanism capable of axially titling with no relation to a fulcrum holding member to rotate the mechanism around the desired axis perpendicular to the longitudinal direction.
