PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rapidly give an alarm to a driver in a peripheral monitoring device for vehicle by shortening the time required to decide detection of an obstacle after detection of the obstacle by a sensor. SOLUTION: A plurality of sensors perform detecting operation according to a predetermined order. The first sensor performs the detecting operation (S1), and when the sensor detects an obstacle (YES in S2), the sensor continuously performs the detecting operation by a predetermined frequency (N times) (S3), and whether the detection frequency of the obstacle exceeds a predetermined detection decision accumulated frequency (M times) or not is determined (S4). When the detection frequency exceeds the detection decision accumulated frequency (YES in S4), the detection of the obstacle is alarmed to the user using a buzzer, a display part, and the like. When the detection frequency is below the detection decision accumulated frequency (NO in S4), the next sensor performs the detecting operation according to the predetermined order (S6).
