PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage-control system which prevents the capacity of a cache memory from being subjected to pressure even if the access performance of a controller of a storage-control device to its external storage device is not good. SOLUTION: In the storage-control system, the storage device of a second storage-control device is connected to a first storage-control device, and the first storage-control device can write data to the storage device of the second storage-control device in compliance with a request from a higher-level device connected to the first storage-control device. The first storage-control device is provided with; a controller which controls the transmission and reception of data between the higher-level device and the storage device of the second storage-control device; and a cache memory which temporarily memorizes the data. The controller sets a threshold value of a memory capacity on the cache memory to the storage device according to the characteristics of the storage device. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
