PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a support for a columnar structure reduced in weight and enabling reduction in working time and working cost and a columnar structure suitable for the support. SOLUTION: A column is supported by a plurality of cast support units 2. The support unit 2 comprises a column holding part 6, a bottom plate part 7, a rib 8, and a mounting auxiliary device 3. The column holding part 6 comprises a pair of flat surface parts 61 and connection hole parts 63 at right angle to each other. The mounting auxiliary device 3 comprises a square column holding surface 31 in contact with the flat surface part 61 or the square part inner surface of the square cylindrical column 4f, a circular column holding surface 32 in contact with the surface of a cylindrical column 4a, and a connection hole 33. The bottom plate part 7 comprises a placing part 72 for placing the bottom surface of the column 4a. To support the cylindrical column 4a, the mounting auxiliary device 3 is mounted on the column holding part 6, the surface of the column 4a is brought into contact with the cylindrical holding surface 32, and they are fastened to each other by bolts 9. To support the square cylindrical column 4f, the square part surface of the column 4f is brought into contact with the flat surface part 61, the mounting auxiliary device 3 is brought into contact with the square part inner surface of the column 4f, and they are fastened to each other by bolts 9.
