PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a key management system capable of lending a key in accordance with schedule. SOLUTION: This key management system is provided with a card reader 14 for specifying a user based on the information from the card reader 14, a key management machine controller 3 for determining whether a key is lent or not based on the results of specification, and a key management machine 5 for attaining a taking-out permission condition and a taking-out inhibit condition of the stored key based on control order of the key management machine controller 3. This key management system has a diagram preparing device 1 for preparing key lending diagram for prescribing a lending time zone per user based on the reservation information inputted in advance. The key management machine controller 3 retrieves the lending time zone corresponding to the user inputted by the card reader 14 on the key lending diagram and determines whether a key is lent or not based on the lending time zone and the time when the user is specified by the card reader 14.
