PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively exhibit a heat-loss reducing effect with cold-iron source by suitably controlling the weight of the cold-iron source put into a mixer car while preventing the adverse effect on the operation. SOLUTION: The cold-iron source C is put into the lower part of the opening hole part 12 of the car body 10 in the mixer car 2 during conveying to a blast furnace 1, the mixer car 2 which becomes empty by discharging molten iron in the car body 10 in the mixer car 2 into a converter facility 3, and after that, the molten iron from the blast furnace 1 is charged into the mixer car 2. Then, the weight of the cold-iron source C put into the car body 10 in the empty mixer car 2, is regulated based on the area of the opening hole part 12. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
