PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inorganic phosphor which satisfies various characteristics required corresponding to respective usages when applying the inorganic phosphor to display apparatuses such as CRT, fluorescent lamps, and other various kinds of apparatuses or materials, and especially which has a small particle size, is high in luminance, and further, to provide a method of manufacturing a high luminance inorganic phosphor very superior in evenness which does not need classification and mechanical pulverizion after baking and is low in cost. SOLUTION: The inorganic phosphor has a variation cefficient of 50% or less in content ratio of distribution among particles of the constituents constituting parent nuclei and activation parts of the inorganic phosphor. Also, the method of manufacturing the inorganic phosphor by forming a precursor of the inorganic phosphor by a sol-gel method, then baking the precursor of the inorganic phosphor, is provided.
