PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To calculate viscoelastic characteristics, by applying strain input to a sample rubber simultaneously with specifying a blow point and to deduce the blow point under actual manufacturing condition of a rubber product with high accuracy. SOLUTION: In a blow point measuring method which is employed to vulcanize a plate-shaped sample rubber pressurized/enclosed in a cavity of a definite volume, while the rotary shearing strain is input to one side of the sample rubber to measure the compression stress of the sample rubber during vulcanization, and to calculate the torque outputted from the other side of the sample rubber by the rotary shearing strain and the degree of the vulcanization of the sample rubber with the elapse of time, the viscoelastic characteristics of the sample rubber from a torque curve, showing the temporal change of the torque and the degree of the vulcanization, when the compression stress curve, showing the temporal change of the compression stress reaches a maximum value through the first minimum value, is set as the blow point, the maximum value of the shearing strain inputted to one side of the sample rubber is set to 0.01-0.1%.
