PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily detect the degradation of power transmission or distribution wire with a device of a small size and low cost constitution. SOLUTION: The detector main body 1A is composed of the current transformer 5, the degradation determination circuit 2, 3 for obtaining determination of degradation from the transformer current, the transmission circuit 4 and the power source circuit 1, integrally constituted into one body and mounted on the detection objective wire A. The portable terminal 1B for receiving the degradation determination signal from the detector main body 1A by the radio waves or the infrared rays. The current transformer is mounted on the degradation detection objective wire by a clamping system.
