PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cartridge and an image forming device in which usability is improved by enabling a user to learn of the quantity of remaining toner, cartridge information and so on with proper timing and to take necessary measures such as replacement of a cartridge. SOLUTION: The image forming device includes a process cartridge 25 which is freely attached to and detached from a device main body. The cartridge 25 integrally incorporates a photoreceptive drum 2, a developing device 12, etc. The developing device 12 is provided with a detection rod 9 for a remaining toner quantity detection means 17, and the quantity of remaining toner 7 is detected by a change in electrostatic capacity between the detection rod 9 and a developing sleeve 5. When it is determined through detection at the start of printing that the quantity of remaining toner is insufficient, an image data signal which is transmitted from an engine control 18 to a scanner unit 4 is controlled to print remaining toner insufficiency information on the end of a transfer material. Thus a user learns of it easily. |
