PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite image processor that consists of external image processors which are connected to a main image processor and can download the programs written on the cards into the external image processors via a single IC card connector for simplifying its constitution and also reducing its cost. SOLUTION: An ICCARD 17 where an updating program is written is connected to an ICCARD connector 15 that is contained only in the main body of a composite image processor and then downloaded into a ROM 12 of the main body, a printer option 20 and ROM 22 and 32 of a FAX option 30 respectively. Every option is transferred via a UART which transmits and receives the normal control signals connecting those options to a main control part 10 or via an application image bus. When the UART is used, the transfer rate is higher than the normal level. |
