The method involves forming a stator (1) from a stator carrier (3) and a stator outer part (2), where the stator carrier (3) is formed from a stator carrier inner part (4) and a stator carrier outer part (5). The carrier inner part is connected with the carrier outer part by an electron beam welding, where the carrier inner part is made of material e.g. heat treated steel. The stator outer part (2) is shrunk on the carrier, where the carrier outer part is made of material e.g. copper and aluminum.
