The method for diagnosing the type I the extent of the respiratory failure comprises the spirometry with the aid of the simple electronic spirometers. For diagnosing the type I the extent of the respiratory failure, the following parameters are assessed: the vital capacity of the lungs (VC), the one-second forced expiratory volume (FEV1), their ratio (FEV1/VC), maximal lung ventilation, and the total lung capacity.
