<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To successfully collect a PM even in an operation range having the low exhaust gas temperature, and to reduce an NOx in the exhaust gas in all the operation range, in a diesel engine equipped with a continuous regeneration DPF using a catalyst. <P>SOLUTION: A bypass passage is provided in an exhaust passage 7 of the diesel engine equipped with the continuous regeneration DPF 12, to install a second continuous regeneration DPF13. The PM is collected with the second continuous DPF 13 in the low exhaust gas temperature range. In this case, the injection timing of fuel to be injected into a cylinder is advanced to perform premixed combustion, and the generation quantity of the PM is reduced, which enables the sufficient collection even when the second continuous DPF 13 is of small capacity. In order to suppress NOx generation, the cooled exhaust gas is recirculated in the cylinder, and a urea addition SCR catalyst is installed in the exhaust passage 7 to carry out the reductive decomposition of the NOx in the exhaust gas, so as to implement the further reduction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
