<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piston type compressor capable of preventing occurrence of troubles caused by deformation by eliminating deformation of a storage cylindrical part and a cylinder bore while suppressing leakage of a refrigerant from a discharge chamber to a suction chamber. <P>SOLUTION: In this piston type compressor, a rotary valve 41 supported by a rotary shaft is stored in the storage cylindrical part 42 formed in a cylinder block 11. A partitioning wall 15 is fitted around the periphery of the storage cylindrical part 42, and also a seal member 44 for suppressing the leakage of the refrigerant from the discharge chamber 29 to the suction chamber 28 is disposed between the peripheral surface 42a of the storage cylindrical part 42 and the inner peripheral surface 15a of the partitioning wall 15.
