PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform, with stable communication quality, bidirectional communication at a range of sub-millimeter wave band to milliwave band, a long range of cable or wireless communication, and bidirectional communication in case there exists a communication obstacle, by effectively using a standard TDD modem for wireless LAN as it is. SOLUTION: The communication repeater repeats and transmits communication signals sent/received between one modem 1 of TDD system and the other modem. It comprises a trunk signal path R0 for transmitting communication signals on the side of one modem 1, first and second signal paths R1 and R2 provided on the other modem sides parallel to each other for transmitting transmission signals and reception signals of one modem 1, a transmission signal detecting circuit Z1 which detects whether a transmission signal is generated or not from one modem 1 based on the split signal from the trunk signal path R0, and a high frequency switch 31 for connecting the trunk signal path R0 either to a first signal path R1 or second signal path R2, based on the detection signal.
