PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation apparatus capable of understanding travel trajectory of one's own vehicle with a language. SOLUTION: The apparatus includes a detecting means 10 and 12 for detecting the position of one's own vehicle, a travel trajectory creating means 66 for creating language information expressing the travel trajectory of one's own vehicle based on the detection result of the detecting means and storing the language information, and output means 52 and 32 for outputting the language information stored by the travel trajectory creating means. The travel trajectory creating means includes a determining means for determining whether the travel state varies, and updates the language information when the travel state is determined to vary. Preferably, the determining means determines that the travel state varies when the travel road name varies, when the vehicle passes an intersection, or when the vehicle turns right or left at an intersection.
