PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid jet device which can inform highly precise ink residual amount at an arbitrary time. SOLUTION: The liquid jet device 10 which has a liquid jet head 30 which injects liquid, a liquid storage means 24 which stores the liquid, and a holding means 60 which holds the liquid storage means 24 comprises a strain measurement means 68 which measures the strain of the holding means 60, a strain corresponding liquid remaining amount information storage means 100 which stores strain corresponding liquid remaining amount information 102 showing the relationship between the strain of the holding means 60 and the remaining amount of the liquid in the liquid storage means 24, a liquid remaining amount calculation means which calculates the liquid remaining amount based on the strain measured by the strain measurement means 68 and the strain corresponding remaining liquid amount information 102, and a remaining liquid amount information means which informs the remaining liquid amount according to an inquiry.
