The indoor machine of the air conditioner comprises an indoor heat exchanger, a cross flow fan, an additional function unit (25), and a shield member (24). The indoor heat exchanger is formed in a bent shape. The cross flow fan generates an air flow to be passed through the indoor heat exchanger and blown out indoors. The additional function unit (25) is disposed on the upstream side of the indoor heat exchanger and secured to the indoor heat exchanger or to a member integrated with the indoor heat exchanger. The shield member (24) is integrated with the additional function unit (25) and covers the bent part of the indoor heat exchanger from the upstream side.</p>
