ADIPONECTIN RECEPTOR AND GENE CODING FOR THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new protein having an adiponectin binding capacity and effective for isolating and identifying human and mouse adiponectin receptors; a method for screening a ligand, agonist or antagonist for adiponectin receptor by the use of the protein; and a screening kit therefor.

SOLUTION: The new protein having adiponectin binding capacity comprises (a) a protein composed of a specific amino acid sequence or (b) a protein composed of the specific amino acid sequence wherein one or more amino acids are deleted, replaced or added and having adiponectin binding capacity.
