<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for guaranteeing the validity of plate making data to increase the efficiency for the work of validating platemaking data for platemaking printing during the process of creating the platemaking data. <P>SOLUTION: A system for guaranteeing the validity of platemaking data comprises a validity-guaranteeing-type platemaking editing apparatus and a validity-guaranteeing-type platemaking apparatus connected to each other by a network. The validity-guaranteeing-type platemaking editing apparatus receives a font verification profile and a print color verification profile, verifies the font code of the platemaking data according to the font verification profile, verifies the dot information of the platemaking data according to the print color verification profile, and sends the platemaking data with the two profiles added to the data.
