POLARIZING PLATE WITH ADHESIVE RETARDATION LAYER, METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME, OPTICAL FILM AND IMAGE DISPLAY DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarizing plate with an adhesive retardation layer capable of suppressing a change in optical characteristics even under heating and humidification conditions, and capable of highly maintaining visibility.

SOLUTION: The polarizing plate (4) is obtained by stacking an acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive layer on the retardation layer side of a retardation layer attached polarizing plate (3) having the retardation layer on at least one transparent protective film of a polarizing plate (2) including transparent protective films stacked on both sides of an iodine-based polarizer (1), wherein the iodine-based polarizer (1) has a ratio (K/I) between an iodine (I) content (wt.%) and a potassium (K) content (wt.%) being 0.200-0.235, and the polarizing plate (2) is obtained by stacking the iodine-based polarizer (1) and the transparent protective films by way of an adhesive layer formed of a water-soluble adhesive comprising a polyvinyl alcohol resin containing an acetoacetyl group and a crosslinking agent.
