PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable data backup and other operations without data communication between information processing apparatuses. SOLUTION: A first controller receives a pair control instruction sent from an information processing apparatus to at least one virtual volume, changes a first LUN included in the pair control instruction to a second LUN according to relationships, and relays the pair control instruction including the second LUN to at least one of first logical volumes. A second controller receives the pair control instruction including the second LUN from a virtualization device, and in response to the pair control instruction including the second LUN, controls a pair status between the at least one of the first logical volumes and a second logical volume.
