PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving method of a stepping motor for reducing the fluctuation of a rotation angle per micro step in open loop control, a driver of the stepping motor and an optical disc apparatus. SOLUTION: The alternative driver 2 is not dedicated to the stepping motor 1, and previously rotates a rotating shaft 1a of the stepping motor 1 at a predetermined and fixed angular speed. A voltage measuring apparatus 5 measures a counter electromotive voltage generated at a terminal 1b in the stepping motor 1. The magnitude of the counter electromotive voltage or the magnitude in proportion to the counter electromotive voltage is associated with a rotational position of the rotating shaft 1a, and stored in a memory 7. When the stepping motor 1 is driven, a control circuit 8 generates a signal voltage in proportion to the counter electromotive voltage associated with the rotational position of the rotating shaft 1a, a driving circuit 9 generates a drive voltage in proportion to the signal voltage, and the stepping motor 1 is driven by the drive voltage.
