PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tracking detection method capable of detecting the generation of the tracking in an early stage without erroneous operation even a loading apparatus is equipped with an inverter circuit with a simple circuit constitution. SOLUTION: The tracking detection device is performed as follows: (S1) circuit current is detected; (S2) 500 Hz or higher frequency components are eliminated; (S4) determination is made whether the state is in standby/stop state or not by the standby/stop detection circuit 11; (S5) peak current for every half cycle is detected if the standby/stop state is determined, and the tracking detection is started by the operation circuit, and compared with both the previously set plus/minus threshold values; (S6) when the current waves exceed the respective threshold during one cycle, the occurrence of the tracking discharge is determined and (S8) its number of times are summed up, and the formation of tracking is determined when the number of times exceeds the predetermined number of times, then the tracking generation signal is output.
