PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotor for a centrifugal separator capable of accomplishing enhancement of a performance by suppressing a windage loss and a noise to a low degree while accomplishing a light weight and cost reduction and a rotor for a centrifugal separator capable of suppressing deformation to a small degree by enhancing a rigidity of a rotor cover and accomplishing enhancement of a performance by suppressing a calorific power and a windage loss to a small degree. SOLUTION: In the rotor 11 for the centrifugal separator, a bowl-like shell 15 is covered/attached to a lower half part of a rotor body 12 and a detachable pan-lid-like rotor cover 16 is covered/attached to an upper half part of the rotor body 12. On a joint part of the shell 15 and the rotor cover 16, end edges of both are overlapped in a vertical direction. Further, a step part 16A is formed on an outer peripheral surface of the rotor cover 16 and a diameter of an upper part is made smaller than a diameter of a lower part with the step part 16A made as a border.
