The invention relates to a security paper for producing security or value documents such as banknotes, identity cards and the similar comprising at least two through holes (12, 16). According to said invention, the first through hole (12) is embodied during paper production and comprises characteristic irregularities on the edge area thereof (14) whereas the second hole (16) is embodied after the paper production by cutting out or punching and is provided with a sharply outlined edge area (18).
