An edge bead remover composition comprising a basic compound, a surfactant, and a solvent, wherein said surfactant is a Gemini type surfactant represented by formula (I): in the formula (I), R<SUB>1</SUB>, R<SUB>2</SUB>, R<SUB>3</SUB>, R<SUB>4</SUB>, R<SUB>5</SUB>, R<SUB>1</SUB>', R<SUB>2</SUB>', R<SUB>3</SUB>', R<SUB>4</SUB>' and R<SUB>5</SUB>' being independently selected from hydrogen, alkyl, aryl, aralkyl, and halogen, R<SUB>6</SUB> being an alkylene having 2 to 6 carbon atoms, and n is an integer of 6 to 23. The edge bead remover composition of the present invention has excellent removing performance, defoaming performance, dispersion stability, and has no residue left on the substrate.
