The invention relates to a bait holder for destroying termite activity. The inventive bait holder has a wider range of features owing to the special design thereof and can be used for detecting and easily ascertaining the level of infestation both on the surface layer and inside the soil. The invention enables the combined use of samples and cartridges of bait in the form of sheets and blocks, comprising a sealed cover for preventing improper handling, and systems for verifying, diagnosing and controlling the level of infestation in a reliable, convenient and safe manner in order to obtain information relating to the position and state of the bait holders and to ascertain whether or not they have been consumed by the termites without the bait holders being opened.
