<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent increase in size of an image forming apparatus having a common drive mechanism, by which rotating force generated by a shared motor is transmitted to a plurality of areas of respective sections of the apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: Since the image writing section of each image forming station is composed of a line head formed from a plurality of light emitting elements, an electric part disposing space SP immediately below an image forming unit can be made wide. Motor bodies, such as a drive motor 911 and so on, are disposed in this electric part disposing space SP. In other words, the drive motor 911 and so on are attached to a support member 32 at the back of the apparatus body such that each motor body overlaps a transfer belt 81 in a plan view from a vertical direction perpendicular to the main scanning direction and sub-scanning direction in the electrical part disposing space SP. This prevents the motor bodies from projecting in the main scanning direction from the image forming stations Y, M, C, and K and a transfer belt 81 in the plan view. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
