PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an IP storage portal device and IP storage system for retaining economical property by multivendor environment and uniform service for multiuser. SOLUTION: In iSCSI connection, an initiator I and an iSCSI target device 6 are not directly iSCSI-connected, but an iSCSI target portal device 5 having functions of terminating one end of the iSCSI connection and relaying two iSCSI sessions is arranged between the initiator and the iSCSI target device 6. The iSCSI target portal device 5 accesses a recording retrieval device 7, solves iSCSI relay connection information and performs iSCSI relay connection between the initiator 1 and the iSCSI target device 6.
