PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out discount sale on and after a preset time point without troublesome setting. SOLUTION: A data processing apparatus for commodity sale acquires information included in read out code symbols, acquires unit price corresponding to commodity code included in the information (step S3, S14), and carries out data processing for commodity sale, based on the acquired unit price. The data processing system judges whether a time event occurs when the current time passes a preset time included in the acquired information (step S12), and carries out discount processing (step S16, S17) in the data processing for commodity sale, based on the discount information for discount processing included together with the preset time in the acquired information when judging the time event occurs (step S12's Y).
