PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coated optical fiber having a satisfactory balance between a removable property, capable of easily removing the outermost covering layer from the release colored layer and an adhesion property between two layers of the order, capable of suppressing increase in the extrusion amount. SOLUTION: The coated optical fiber 10 comprises an optical fiber 13 comprising a bare optical fiber 11 and an inner cover layer 12 which is arranged on an outside circumferential surface of the bare optical fiber, and the release colored layer 14 and the outermost covering layer 15 which are arranged in stack on the outside circumferential surface of the bare optical fiber, where the adhesive strength with respect to the outermost covering layer for the release colored layer falls into a range of 2.0 to 4.5 [N].
