PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector which is improved in the image quality of a projected image. SOLUTION: The projector 1 is equipped with an optical diaphragm device 5, disposed in an optical path between a light source device 411 and a liquid crystal panel 441 and adjusting the light quantity of luminous flux emitted from the light source device 411, by making a light-shielding part move to the inside and the outside of the optical path; a non-visible light-reflecting filter 6, disposed at the trailing stage of the optical path of the optical diaphragm device 5 and reflecting the luminous flux in a non-visible light region among the luminous fluxes emitted from the light source device 411 and guiding it to the outside of the optical path; and an optical sensor 8, receiving the luminous flux in the non-visible light region and outputting a light-receiving signal.
