PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small chip varistor capable of conducting measures against static electricity, removing an unnecessary radiant signal, and handling a multichannel signal line. SOLUTION: The varistor comprises a plurality of laminated assemblies including an internal conductive layer for ground connected to an external electrode for ground, a first ceramic layer with an internal conductive layer for ground formed on its upper surface, an internal conductive layer for signal including a lead-out part connected to the external electrode for signal, and a second ceramics layer with the internal conductive layer for signal formed on its upper surface. The positions of the lead out part of the plurality of assemblies are formed out of an alignment in the lamination direction without overlapping. The introduction of this structure can handle a further number of channels with increasing the number of assemblies. The thin thickness of one layer has no effect on a downsizing requirement even though the number of assemblies increases. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
