PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular anti-collision reinforcing member which is manufactured at relatively low cost, and capable of compatibly increasing the absorption of the collision energy and decreasing the weight of the member, and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: A body part 10 of the vehicular anti-collision reinforcing member comprises a center flange 11 extending in the longitudinal direction, a pair of webs 12, and a pair of side flanges 13, and has open sectional parts OP and a hollow closed sectional part CL which are adjacent to each other along the longitudinal direction. The open sectional part OP is formed of the center flange 11, the pair of webs 12, and the pair of side flanges 13 so as to form a hat-shaped transverse sectional shape opened opposite to the center flange 11. The hollow closed sectional part CL further has a pair of projecting pieces 14, and is formed of the center flange 11, the pair of webs 12, the pair of side flanges 13, and the pair of projecting pieces 14 so as to form a substantially projecting and substantially closed transverse sectional shape.
