PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an announcing type low-frequency therapeutic apparatus capable of detecting a failure on an electrode side and announcing the detected failure. SOLUTION: The announcing type low-frequency therapeutic apparatus 1 comprises a setter 2 for setting the operation of the announcing type low-frequency therapeutic apparatus 1, a CPU to be operated with the output from the setter 2 for performing the arithmetic operation, one channel 4a and the other channel 4b for generating the electric power for the therapy, two sets of electrodes 5 connected to the respective channels 4a and 4b to be attached to the human body, an annunciator 7 for announcing the state of operation of the announcing type low-frequency therapeutic apparatus 1, and a current detecting circuit 6 for detecting the electric current running in the electrodes 5. In the announcing type low-frequency therapeutic apparatus, the CPU 3 determines the defective attachment of the electrodes 5 or the failure of the announcing type low-frequency therapeutic apparatus 1 including the electrodes 5 based on the ratio of the quantity of electric current in one channel 4a to the quantity of electric current in the other channel 4b while the announcing type low-frequency therapeutic apparatus 1 is operated, and the result of the determination is announced by the annunciator 7.
