The invention provides an edge trimming machine (1) for the flush trimming of edges (2') on the narrow sides of plate-shaped workpieces (2) which are preferably made essentially of wood, wooden materials or the like, comprising a flush trimming unit (10) which has a cutting tool (12) and a drive, by means of which the cutting tool (12) can be driven about a rotation axis (14), and a conveying device (4) for producing a relative movement between the flush trimming unit (10) and the edge (2') to be trimmed in a conveying direction, wherein the flush trimming unit (10) is arranged in the edge trimming machine (1) in such a way that the rotation axis (14) of the cutting tool can be swivelled about a swivel axis (16) which extends essentially parallel to the conveying direction and is arranged in an essentially stationary position, and wherein the cutting tool (12) is designed in such a way that the operation can be changed over between at least two different types of machining by merely swivelling the flush trimming unit (10) about the swivel axis (16), said types of machining being selected from the group consisting of flat trimming, bevelling and radiusing. |
