<p>It is intended to provide a novel microcapsule, which can control the speed of the sustained release of the active ingredient thereof when applied to the skin, and a method of producing the same. A microcapsule which comprises a water-insoluble ethylcellulose (1) having the active ingredient (2), polyisopropylacrylamide (3) and methylcellulose (4) encapsulated therein. The sustained release properties of the active ingredient (2) can be controlled by changing the mixing ratio of the temperature-responsive polyisopropylacrylamide (3) and the water-absorbing methylcellulose (4) to the water-insoluble ethylcellulose (1) serving as the matrix of the microcapsule depending on the conditions such as the skin temperature and environmental moisture changes.</p> |
