<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diversity receiver capable of preventing the increase of power consumption. <P>SOLUTION: The diversity receiver includes a plurality of receiving branches for receiving communication signals, reception quality determination parts 109 and 110 for calculating branch reception qualities representing reception qualities of communication signals received by the reception branches, a synthesizing part 107 for synthesizing respective communication signals received by the reception branches, a reception quality determination part 111 for calculating a synthesized reception quality representing a reception quality of a synthesized signal synthesized by the synthesizing part 107; and a control part 112 for selecting a single branch reception system of receiving communication signals by one of reception branches or a diversity reception system of receiving communication signals by a plurality of reception branches out of the reception branches, on the basis of the branch reception qualities and the synthesized reception quality. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
