PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power conversion device that makes linear the length of a voltage command vector and an output voltage, by increasing a basic wave constituent of an output voltage and by reducing the distortion of the output voltage and an input current. SOLUTION: The power conversion device generates an arbitrary voltage, by connecting each phase of an AC power source and that of an output side with a two-way switche having self-arc-extinguishing capability, and by PWM-controlling an AC power source voltage. In the power conversion device, when the voltage command vector extends outside a spatial vector hexagonal region having a first voltage set point of (√3)/2(≈0.866) times input line voltage amplitude as a side, a limiter is provided that limits the voltage command vector within the spatial vector hexagonal region so as to perform the PWM control based on the voltage command vector limited by the limiter.
