PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a program information system capable of operating AV equipment for an opposite home during a call by a portable telephone or the like. SOLUTION: In the program information system, a first portable telephone acquires a program specific information specifying a broadcasting program presently received by a first receiver from the first receiver, and transmits the acquired program specific information to the portable telephone of a call opposite party when a user calls by the first portable telephone and a second one. In the program information system, the second portable telephone of the call opposite party receives the broadcasting program specified on the basis of the received program specific information by a second receiver in this case.
