PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle-use navigation system which displays the image of an object existing around a vehicle, while suppressing the influences on its navigation functionalities. SOLUTION: An image analyzing/distance detecting section 2a of a control circuit 2 which constitutes the navigation system 1, processes an image of the surrounding of the vehicle photographed by a vehicle outside camera 15, thereby extracting the object, such as another vehicle or the like existing therearound. The control circuit 2 will make the image of the object which is extracted by the image analyzing/distance detecting section 2a displayed, so as to superimpose it onto a map image that is displayed on a display device 5, only when the condition is satisfied under which it is decided as being proper to inform a driver who is the user about the the surrounding state of the vehicle.
